Not just fun…
That’s how I felt after my Standard run with Solar on Sunday. That same feeling of superawareness, where everything is going really slow but really fast at the same time. It was great.
Juno was fun, too, but a different kind of fun. Kind of like how doing chemistry problems was fun, but gave me a headache at the same time. I think that’s how it was for her, too. She had fun, but it gave her a headache at the same time, and there were clearly times where she really wasn’t too sure of herself. Her ego is pretty fragile, and she REALLY wants to get it right, so I can’t begrudge her going slow to make sure she DOES get it right. I enjoyed getting her runs from the weekend on video, and I’m happy to post them here – there will come a time in the not too distant future, when Juno is winging around like crazy, when I’ll look back at these baby videos and chuckle. Shoot, I’m looking at them now and I chuckle.
Juno has never done any agility outside, except for the practice jump a few times, so this was a big deal for her. Her first time outside, first time on grass, and there was a lot to see and a lot to process. We have another trial outside in just a couple of weeks, but in a different location, so that counts as a first as well. On top of that, we did our first FAST classes together, then our first Open STD courses together…lots and lots of firsts.
