And I thought I was busy before

The first time I was on the USA Agility World Championship Team was in 2007, with Jester. Then, a few years later, Solar and I were on the AWC USA Team for three years, 2010, 2011, and 2012. We were also technically on the team in 2013, but that was the year that AWC was in South Africa, and as the AKC was not officially sponsoring a team at the event, the costs, travel time, etc., became prohibitive, so we didn’t go.

Now, 2016…and…yeah, it’s kind of old news now, but FRODO and I are on the AWC USA Team. Holy cow. I can’t even believe it. I never, never, EVER thought that the two of us would be THERE. I mean, I hoped, dreamed, and all that. But NEVER did I think we’d break through in to that very small, very select group. And, here we are.

So, this AWC thing is at this point not my first rodeo. In fact, it’s my fifth rodeo, with my third dog. How freakin cool is THAT? I still pinch myself on a regular basis.

Frodo of course cares very little for all this. He loves to run with me (when I’m the ME he needs me to be, which is also a nice me to just BE), but he’s not too sure about podium shots, and ribbons and such. And, that’s ok. It doesn’t need to be about that, although that is fun, and photo shoots make for good memories.

And so, here I am again, in familiar territory, practices, team stuff, etc. But also, new territory, since every experience is different, and I’m enjoying living it. I’m sure I’ll write more on this topic as the event draws nearer, and practice is at the end of this month. But oh MY, am I busy! And I love it. Between Chispa, and Frodo, and all the growing things on the property, I’m getting a mental as well as physical workout. Frodo, of course, continues doing what he always does, nothing has changed for him 🙂

A brief trip down memory lane…and new ones to be made! My teammates this year are fantastic, I love the vibe already, and I’m so, so, humbled and proud and happy to be able to do this AGAIN.
